The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops. The X40 as with other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It comes with an easy mobile application interface and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. It also comes with a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions. Its vacuum has a high maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has “Intelligent Dirt Detection”, which regulates the intensity at which the vac works and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house according to the degree of dirt they are.
